Ken Masser, General Manager of Basketball England’s Lancashire Spinners, announced that the team has re-signed forward/guard Mark Rangeley for the 2016-17 season.
“Mark has put his heart and soul into this club on and off the court,” said Masser. “He has been a crucial player for us over the last few seasons and has improved aspects of his game every year.”
Rangeley, 25, averaged 10.8 points and 4.2 rebounds per game throughout the 2015-16 season, which ranked fourth and fifth on the team respectively. The Blackpool native started 31 games and shot 43.2 percent from the floor and 68.8 from the free throw line. He started in all divisional games contributing 11.6 points (3rd) and 4.8 rebounds (4th).
He joined the Spinners organisation in January 2014 following a two-year stint with the Huddersfield Heat where he won the Patrons Cup and Division 3 league title. In March 2015, Rangeley set a career high scoring 43 points against Birmingham Mets. Prior to joining the Heat, Rangeley attended Iowa Lakes Community College (USA) before returning to the United Kingdom.
