BURY — Joshua McLaughlin scored 22 points to lead the Bury U16s to a 70-32 win over Preston.
The Spinners received contributions from 10 other players, including six who reached at least six points.
After taking a while to find their stride against the Pride, who travelled with six players to Phillips High School, Bury took control and built a 29-18 halftime lead.
Preston was held to just two points in the third quarter as the Spinners extended the lead to 30 highlighted by Rhys Smith cutting through the defence for a layup.
McLaughlin and Rob Stansfield, who added six points, helped see out the game with Bury inching closer to securing a playoff spot.
