PRESTON, Lancs. — Lancashire ends a 14-day layoff on Saturday when it travels to current Division One leaders Northumbria. Game time is set for 3 p.m. at Sport Central on the university campus with LiveStats available from tipoff.

The Spinners are looking to end their losing streak, which was extended to four games following a 97-94 defeat against Bradford on Jan. 21. Northumbria enters Saturday having won just one out of its last three games, but maintains a slim lead over Manchester.

Saturday will be the seventh ever meeting with Northumbria holding a 4-2 series lead. The Spinners suffered two defeats to Northumbria earlier this season. Both came at Castle Leisure Centre and by a combined 35 points.

Lancashire heads to the North East with 5-14 record overall and is 4-10 in league play with its last win coming against Westminster on Dec. 3. But despite sitting one place above the bottom of the standings, the Spinners are only a win behind a trio of teams.

Mark Rangeley leads Lancashire in scoring at 16.4 points per game on 43 percent (80-of-186) shooting. He is 39-of-96 (40.6 percent) from beyond the arc, which ranks second on the team. Jack Hudson leads the team with 68 assists and 29 steals. Hudson is the team’s second leading scorer at 15.6 points per game.

The Spinners will be without their third leading scorer Connor Murtagh, who continues to recover from a shoulder injury, for a fourth consecutive game. James Banton, Ayo Nuwe, Mike Bernard and Aitor Estrada will also be unavailable.

David Ulph, however, has played the last two games after missing three-straight and is contributing 10.3 points on 47.7 percent (42-of-94) shooting and team-high 9.8 rebounds per contest. David Walsh is chipping in 9.5 points and is second on the Spinners with 26 made 3-pointers.

Northumbria, who was recently crowned National Cup Champions, is 20-4 overall. The league leaders hold a 13-3 mark, but are coming off an overtime defeat to London. Lewis Champion leads Northumbria in scoring in league play at 17.8 points per game. Champion is coming off his second 30-point game.
