Lancashire travels to Reading on Sunday evening in a battle of three-win National League teams at Bohunt Wokingham.
The Reading Rockets won all three previous meetings, including sweeping the season series, as well as ending the Spinners’ run in the National Trophy in 2015-16. The most recent clash was decided by a single point as Reading walked away victorious at Castle Leisure Centre 81-80.
Second-year forward Connor Murtagh leads the Spinners in scoring at 14.8 points on 43.9 percent (47-for-107) shooting in eight league games. Murtagh has reached double figures in three-straight contests and has done so on 10 occasions this season. He led the team with 16 points against Derby.
Guards Jack Hudson and Mark Rangeley are also averaging just over 14 points in divisional play, but struggled on a combined 5-for-18 shooting in the 23-point defeat to Derby.
The Spinners, who are shooting 40 percent from the field, are being outscored by a 5.1 margin and outrebounded by 6.3.
Reading hasn’t featured in the league since Nov. 19 when it defeated Leicester 93-73 at home. The Rockets enter Sunday on the back of consecutive wins and are 1-1 at Bohunt Wokingham.
Two of Lancashire’s three division wins have come on the road – at Worthing and at Hemel.
