Lancashire hosts Northumbria at Myerscough College on Saturday, as part of a double-bill featuring the Spinners Women’s against Charnwood College. The women tip off at 2 p.m. with the men following its conclusion.
The Spinners Men’s team will then travel to Bradford on Sunday for a third time in October to face the Dragons in the National Cup fourth-round at Bradford College Sports Hall.
Lancashire (2-5, 1-2 NBL1) is coming off its first league win of the season, a 78-74 triumph at Worthing. Jack Hudson had his second 20-point game – both on the road – and has scored in double-figures in four of seven contests in 2016-17.
Forward Connor Murtagh averaging 15.0 points per game leads three Spinners scoring in double-figures in all competitions. He is also second on the team in rebounding at 6.4 per game and is shooting over 45 percent from the field.
Hudson is second on the team with 13.9 points per game and has played all but four minutes in league play, including all forty at Worthing where he tied for a personal-best eight field goals. The guard leads the team with 36 assists and 20 steals whilst ranking third in rebounding.
Saturday marks the sixth meeting overall with Northumbria, who leads 2-3, and second this season. The Spinners opened the season with a 78-58 loss to Northumbria in the National Trophy. Lancashire was swept in the season series in 2015-16.
Despite 31 points from American Malcolm Smith, Northumbria (6-2, 3-1) suffered its first league loss of the year when it fell 90-69 at home to the Derby Trailblazers.
