Ken Masser, General Manager of Basketball England’s Lancashire Spinners, today confirmed that the team has re-signed forward Connor Murtagh for the 2016-17 season.
“Coming into the offseason we knew it would be important to hold onto the core of the team and Connor was a pivotal piece to our success last year,” said Masser.
Murtagh, 22, ranked second on the Spinners in scoring with 12.8 points, first in rebounding with 6.4 rebounds, and tied third with 1.9 assists starting in all 37 games in 2015-16. He was first on the team in 3-point field goal (35.6%) and free throw (75.9%) percentage, field goals made (171) and 3-pointers made (53). The forward also led the team in scoring seven times, in rebounds 17, and posted five 20-point games.
The former Manchester Giant averaged 13.4 points and 6.6 rebounds, which ranked second and first respectively, in 25 divisional games.
