The Lancashire Spinners Bury U14s continued to record wins whilst Rossendale U14s narrowly lost to the Manchester Giants.
LANCASHIRE SPINNERS BURY U14 BOYS 82, CHESHIRE WIRE GREEN 48
Bury U14 Boys had four players finish in double figures scoring as it swept aside Cheshire Wire Green 82-48 to move into fifth place in the North West Development League on Saturday.
Led by Vince Byrne-Willner’s 17 points, Joe Heyes (13), Danny Marsh (12) and Vihan Gunaratne (10) helped the Spinners overcome an early season defeat to Cheshire.
A distinct height advantage fired the Spinners into a nine point lead midway through the opening quarter. Roqeeb Ogundipe and Boston Brady then came off the bench to score to put Bury ahead 20-13.
The bench continued to provide production in the second quarter as Leon Ramsden contributed two mid-range field goals whilst Elliot Davey went coast to coast.
Holding a 38-19 lead at halftime, Bury maintained its pressure with Charlie Prestbury recording his first points.
An 11-0 run early in the fourth quarter pushed the Spinners to a comprehensive win.

LANCASHIRE SPINNERS ROSSENDALE 60, MANCHESTER GIANTS 69
The Rossendale Boys U14 Boys were narrowly defeated 69-60 by Manchester Giants on Sunday.
Manchester held a four-point lead after the opening quarter but the Spinners battled in front in the second as Oldham’s forward was on the bench in foul trouble.
But the Spinners were unable to convert their free throws and were outscored 22-16 in the final quarter.
