Ken Masser, General Manager of Basketball England’s Lancashire Spinners, announced that the club has retained veteran forward Aitor Estrada.

“Aitor is a top professional, who is highly respected by the young players at the club. We expect him to continue performing at a high level on court whilst also mentoring the next generation of players,” said Masser.

Estrada, 37, averaged 4.4 points and 2.1 rebounds in 27 games, including four starts, in 2015-16. He committed just 15 turnovers, which ranked tied for second fewest on the team. The Spaniard had a season high of 15 points and four 3-pointers against Westminster on Jan. 31.

Prior to joining the then Rossendale Raptors in 2011 and helping them reach Division One as the rebranded Lancashire Spinners, the forward played for the Manchester Magic, Blackpool in the local area league and Menesiano Hola in the second national division in Spain at 18 years old. He played junior basketball for his school Claret and Joyfe in his native country.
