Ken Masser, General Manager of Basketball England’s Lancashire Spinners, announced that the team has re-added England U18 forward Zion Tordoff for the 2016-17 season.

“Zion has showed unbelievable maturity and integrity since joining the team for the second half of last season,” Masser said. “His future is extremely bright and we hope the Spinners can play a part in helping him in his journey.”

Tordoff, 17, played in 15 games for the Spinners after joining the roster in January. He made his Division One debut against Essex on Jan. 16 scoring seven points and grabbing three rebounds in 14 minutes. The six-foot-six forward had a season-high 11 points on 5-of-11 shooting versus Kent in March.

Prior to joining Lancashire, the Bradford native, who started his career with the Dragons, competed for Myerscough College in Division Three where he was averaging a double-double. Tordoff started his summer by being named Most Valuable Player of the 2016 Hoopsfix All-Star Classic before being selected to represent the England U18 at the European Championships in Macedonia.

In his first international tournament he averaged 8.8 points on 48.1 percent shooting (26 of 54) and three rebounds in eight games for England. He scored in double-figures on four occasions and led the team with 15 points against Iceland.
