Zion Tordoff and Kyle Carey shine as quartet from Lancashire/Myerscough participated in the 2016 HoopsFix All-Star Classic at Brixton Rec in London on Sunday.
Tordoff (Class of 2017), who was on Team Black in the under-17 game, earned Most Valuable Player honours following his 18-point and six-rebound performance in 25 minutes – all team highs.
“Player in such a great event in front of many people alongside a lot of talent is always something to be proud of,” said Tordoff, who shot 64% from the floor and a perfect 4-of-4 at the free throw line.
“It’s always a confidence builder to show up and deliver against the best in the country – but with every success you have to measure it with the hard reality of continuing to put in the hard work.”
Derby’s Brian Amabilino added 11 points and nine rebounds as Team Black U17s defeated Team White 93-73.
